Our story
What started as kitchen sarcasm became a dessert restaurant.
Pastry chef and owner Brant Dadaleares grew up in the lobstering town of Boothbay Harbor, trained at New England Culinary Institute, and spent years in the kitchens of James Beard award-winning Maine chefs before opening Gross in 2019.
The building is an 1883 John Calvin Stevens design, originally a bank: arched brick rooms and tall wooden beam ceilings that harken back to a simpler time.
